Troqueer
|
|
Perched
on a hillside on the banks of the River Nith (it's not as romantic
as it sounds!) stands Troqueer. As you leave the town centre over
St Michael's Street Bridge, Troqueer sits to your left. The older
part of Troqueer is mainly ex council sandstone semi detached and
2 storey flats, but there is a new, trendy Troqueer springing up,
nearer the river and St Michaels Bridge, of nice but quite expensive
flats and nice new family houses. The estate has all the usual facilities,
including pubs, mini markets, large playing fields, a primary school,
and it's proximity to the town centre means all local amenities are
pretty much at hand.
